What does the “Confidence Score” or “Win %” mean?

The percentage shown alongside our top prediction (which might be labelled as “Win %” or relate to a “Confidence Score”) represents the AI’s calculated probability of that specific horse winning the race, based on its analysis of thousands of data points.

Think of it this way:

  • A higher percentage indicates that the AI model found a stronger combination of positive factors (like historical performance, speed figures, suitability to conditions, favourable race dynamics, etc.) for that horse compared to its competitors in that specific race.
  • A lower percentage suggests the AI sees the race as more open or found fewer strong positive signals for its top-rated horse.

Important Considerations:

  • It’s a Probability, Not a Guarantee: Even a high Win % doesn’t guarantee a win. Horse racing involves many variables, and upsets happen.
  • Context is Key: Compare this percentage to the horse’s live market odds. A high Win % might still be poor value if the odds are extremely short. Conversely, finding value might involve identifying horses where the AI’s assessed probability is significantly higher than the probability implied by the market odds.
  • Proprietary Calculation: The exact method for calculating this score involves complex machine learning algorithms. You can learn more about the general factors considered on our Our Technology page.

Use the Win % / Confidence Score as a key indicator of the AI’s assessment strength when forming your own betting strategy.
