How do I use SmartPunter AI?
Using SmartPunter AI is simple! Visit our Race Predictions page to see all of today's race predictions. Our AI analyzes thousands of data points to predict the most likely winner for each race. Simply click the "Reveal Tip" button after watching a brief ad to see our prediction for that race.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is needed! SmartPunter AI is completely free to use without any registration required. Simply visit our site to access all predictions.
Why do I need to watch an ad to see predictions?
The brief ads allow us to keep SmartPunter AI completely free for everyone while covering our operating costs. Our advanced AI technology requires significant computing resources, and this model ensures we can continue providing high-quality predictions without charging any subscription fees.
How often are predictions updated?
Our AI updates predictions approximately every 30 minutes to account for late scratches, jockey changes, track condition updates, and betting market movements. For the most accurate predictions, check back close to race time.
Understanding Predictions
What does the confidence level mean?
The confidence level indicates how certain our AI is about its prediction. Higher percentages (70%+) indicate a stronger conviction in the prediction based on clear patterns in the data. Lower percentages (below 50%) suggest the race is more competitive with multiple potential winners.
How accurate are your predictions?
Our AI achieves an average win rate of approximately 36%, which is significantly higher than the industry average of around 29%. For place predictions (finishing in the top 3), our high confidence selections achieve around 61% accuracy. However, horse racing inherently involves unpredictable elements, so no prediction system can guarantee results.
Do you recommend specific betting strategies?
SmartPunter AI provides predictions but does not recommend specific betting amounts or strategies. We advise users to bet responsibly and only risk what they can afford to lose. Many users find the most success focusing on races with higher confidence levels or using our predictions as part of their broader handicapping process.
Why are the odds shown as "N/A" for some races?
When odds appear as "N/A," it typically means that the market odds haven't been finalized or aren't available in our data feed yet. This often happens for races further in the future. Our AI still makes predictions based on all other available data.
Race Information
Which racing jurisdictions do you cover?
SmartPunter AI currently focuses on Australian thoroughbred racing, covering all metropolitan and provincial meetings. This includes major racing venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, as well as country tracks across Australia.
Do you cover international races?
Currently, we focus exclusively on Australian thoroughbred racing. We plan to expand to international races in the future, with New Zealand and Hong Kong likely to be our first international markets.
Do you offer predictions for harness racing or greyhounds?
Our AI is currently specialized in thoroughbred racing only. We hope to expand to harness racing and greyhound racing in the future as we refine our algorithms for these different racing formats.
How far in advance do you provide predictions?
Our system generally provides predictions for races up to 24 hours in advance. The most accurate predictions are those made closer to race time when all variables (including track conditions, scratches, and betting markets) have been factored in.

Betting Terminology
What is the difference between Win and Place betting?
Win betting means you're betting on a horse to finish first in the race. If your selected horse wins, you collect; if not, you lose your stake.
Place betting means you're betting on a horse to finish in the top three positions (or sometimes top two for smaller fields). The payouts are lower than win bets, but you have a higher chance of collecting.
What does SP, Fixed Odds, and Tote mean?
SP (Starting Price): The final odds of a horse when the race begins.
Fixed Odds: The odds that are locked in at the time you place your bet, regardless of subsequent market movements.
Tote: A pool betting system where all bets of a particular type are placed together and the odds are calculated after the pool is closed, based on the distribution of bets.
What are exotic bet types?
Exotic bets are more complex betting options beyond simple win/place bets:
- Quinella: Pick the first two finishers in any order
- Exacta: Pick the first two finishers in the correct order
- Trifecta: Pick the first three finishers in the correct order
- First Four: Pick the first four finishers in the correct order
- Daily Double: Pick the winners of two designated races
- Quadrella (Quaddie): Pick the winners of four designated races
These bets typically offer higher payouts but are harder to win.
What do track conditions like Good, Soft, and Heavy mean?
Track conditions in Australian racing are categorized on a scale:
- Firm 1: Very hard, dry track
- Firm 2: Firm track with reasonable grass coverage
- Good 3: Track with good grass coverage and cushion
- Good 4: Track with some give in it
- Soft 5: Track with a reasonable amount of give in it
- Soft 6: Moist track that's more affected by rain
- Soft 7: More rain-affected track with areas of surface water
- Heavy 8: Rain-affected track that's getting heavy
- Heavy 9: Wet track getting heavily affected
- Heavy 10: Very wet, heavy track
Different horses perform better on different track conditions, which our AI takes into account.
